INVITATION

PTAC Petroleum Technology Alliance Canada and its partners and sponsors invite you, or suitable members from your organization, to participate in the CO2 from Industrial Sources to Commercial Enhanced Hydrocarbon Recovery Forum. This event will focus on CO2 enhanced hydrocarbon recovery (EHR) technology solutions, government policy and initiation of new joint industry technology projects to address current barriers to CO2 EHR implementation.

Injection of CO2 for EHR increases oil and natural gas production and reduces Alberta's CO2 emissions through storage of CO2 in the oil and gas reservoirs. CO2 projects in Alberta face high initial costs because of the cost to capture CO2 from large sources and from the lack of pipelines to move the CO2 to the oil or gas field for injection. Within Alberta today, there is a significant opportunity to link the supply of CO2 from various sources with the demand for CO2 from oil and gas producers.

Opportunities
Forum participants will be able to take advantage of the following opportunities:

  • Listen to key government officials speak on government policy
  • Participate in discussions with a Producer and Supplier Roundtable on matching emitters and injectors
  • Express your views or ask questions pertaining to the presentations
  • Listen to CO2 enhanced oil and gas recovery research & technology project presentations including, but not limited to:
    • Barriers to implementation
    • Reservoir Management
    • Recycle Gas
    • Industry experience
    • Pilot projects
