PTAC Petroleum Technology Alliance Canada invites you to attend the PTAC 2008 Towards Clean Energy Production – Managing GHGs While Minimizing Costs and Maximizing Recovery event. This new and innovative event is the first of its kind as it will focus on technology development, applications and demonstrations to address a wide array of industry needs for both conventional and unconventional oil and gas issues.

The two primary focuses will be -

• energy efficiency opportunities in upstream oil and gas production to minimize the environmental footprint while reducing operating costs; and
• CO2 transportation, sequestration and use for Enhanced Hydrocarbon Recovery, with valuable case study presentations that highlight how technology has achieved economic gains.

The presentations will be followed by interactive question and answer sessions with the presenters. Day one will finish with an afternoon networking reception to exchange ideas and discuss challenges and new technology solutions with colleagues and presenters.

This event will appeal to both engineers as well as corporate decision makers, operations staff, and policy makers that endeavor to find solutions that bolster economic gains through research, technology and innovation.

Speakers include Peter Watson (Deputy Minister, Alberta Energy), Dr. David Keith (ISEEE), John Rilett (Vice-President, Climate Change Central), Charles Szmurlo (Enbridge), Ken Brown (Alberta Research Counsil), Eddy Isaacs (AERI), Bob Savage (Alberta Environment), David Lewin (EPCOR), Stefan Bachu (A.R.C.), Frank Mourits (Natural Resources Canada), John Nenniger (N-Solv), Marc Godin (Portfire Associates), Terrence Trefiak (Envirotech Engineering), Brian Watt (Husky Energy), David Burns (Praxair), Mark Lea-Wilson (Plainsman Manufacturing Inc.), Milos Krnjaja (BP), Roy Kanten (Shell), and Cosmos Voutsinos (Canadian Nuclear Society, Alberta Branch).
