invitation

Air emissions and their associated environmental and health effects are a complex topic that have resulted in increasing public scrutiny and petroleum industry initiatives over recent years. Federal and provincial governments are requiring increased emissions reporting, and stakeholder initiatives such as Alberta's Clean Air Strategic Alliance (CASA) have been driving public policy.

As a result, air related research and emerging issues have expanded beyond solution gas flaring to encompass other areas such as soot formation during flaring, SO2 combustion and dispersion modelling, fugitive emissions reduction, and control of benzene emissions.

Forum participants will learn about related industry-sponsored research projects and their results. The results of these research projects are being used in discussions with stakeholders affecting new regulations. This forum will be of interest to all stakeholders - industry, governments, and ENGOs - who have a vested interest in current air issues and their future direction.

A poster session will showcase potential solutions to air related issues including technological advances, new reserach projects, case studies, demonstrations, updates to environmental regulations, etc. A networking reception will provide additional opportunity to exchange findings, ideas and network with peers.
