2008 Air Issues Forum

Invitation   Agenda ...coming   Registration

September 22, 2008
7:45 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Nexen Annex (+15 level)
801 - 7th Ave SW, Calgary, AB

invitation

Air emissions and their associated environmental and health effects, both provincially and nationally, are a complex topic that have resulted in increasing public scrutiny and petroleum industry initiatives over recent years. However, both the provincial and federal governments have recently announced new and significant reduction targets that will have impacts on UOG companies.

This forum will be the place to learn more about what has been proposed and why, what the potential implications are for producers, and what the path forward is. New regulatory processes and their requirements will also be discussed. Additionally, ongoing industry sponsored air related research and emerging air related issues such as soot formation during flaring, sour gas flare combustion simulation modelling, fugitive emissions reduction, and other research will be discussed.

Forum participants will learn about how these industry-sponsored research projects and their results will influence new regulatory requirements. This forum will be of interest to all stakeholders - industry, governments, and ENGOs - who have a vested interest in current air issues and their future direction.

A poster session will showcase potential solutions to air related issues including technological advances, new reserach projects, case studies, demonstrations, updates to environmental regulations, etc. A networking reception will provide additional opportunity to exchange findings, ideas and network with peers
