Forum Scope

Exciting and game-changing developments are taking place worldwide in:
• Sensors and the platforms used to deploy them: drones, robots and satellites;
• Analytics to transform massive amounts of sensor data into actionable information;
• Visualization and computer graphics to allow people and teams to make decisions using complex information.

The oil and gas industry already remotely monitors environmental impact, operations and assets. However, the emergence of lower cost and more powerful technologies offer the opportunity for improved outcomes. This Forum will explore how these technology advancements will benefit the oil and gas sector through presentations of near-commercial technology solutions, case studies, and pilot projects.

The Forum will feature 3 technical sessions for which presentation abstracts are being solicited:
• Remote Sensing: the application of sensor technologies to monitor assets, processes and environmental impact from manned or unmanned platforms such as fixed land locations, land vehicles, aircrafts or satellites.
• Analytics: applications of systems, software and hardware to capture, store, analyse and derive actionable information from large datasets, or “big data”.
• Visualization and Computer Graphics for Complex Information: applications of software, hardware and user interfaces for people and teams to assess and make decisions interactively using complex data sets.
