2012 Air Issues Forum

This event is currently not open for registration.
Coalbed Methane / Unconventional Gas Emission Reduction / Eco-efficiency Energy Efficiency Environment Environment: Air - Flaring, Venting and Odour Fundamental Research Heavy Oil Natural Gas Production, Processing and Transportation Oil Production and Transportation Pipelines

Air emissions and their associated environmental and health effects are a complex topic that have resulted in increasing public scrutiny both provincially and nationally. This in turn has lead to many upstream petroleum industry research initiatives over recent years. Further, the move to production of unconventional oil and gas reserves has increased scrutiny on the industry. Finally, both the provincial and federal governments are looking to implement changes in emission requirements that could result in large impacts on UOG companies

This forum will be the place to learn more about

  • emerging air emission issues in the UOG sector,
  • regulatory perspectives, programs, and what they are meant to accomplish,
  • what the potential implications are for oil and gas producers, and
  • what the path forward is for all stakeholders.

Additionally, ongoing industry sponsored air emission related research meant to inform regulatory decision making will be highlighted.

Forum participants will learn about how these industry-sponsored research projects and their results will influence new regulatory requirements. This forum will be of interest to all stakeholders – industry, governments, and ENGOs – who have a vested interest in current air issues and their future direction
