Enhanced Gas and Oil Recovery (EGOR) Research Program

Nexen Inc. and the Alberta Research Council (ARC) invite you to attend an information session about ARC's new Enhanced Gas and Oil Recovery (EGOR) research program. This will be of interest to all those involved in technology implementation and improving recovery of oil and gas from reservoirs.

Date:        Monday, April 23, 2001
Time:       11:30 a.m to 1:30 p.m. (lunch provided)
Location: PanCanadian Amphitheatre, Room 260, Tower Centre, 2nd Level
                131-9th Ave. SE, Calgary, AB

EGOR is a multi-year research and technology development program focused on enhanced recovery of conventional oil and natural gas in the following strategic areas:

Carbon Dioxide, Gas and Solvent EOR
Primary and Secondary Light/Medium Oil Recovery
Enhanced Natural Gas Production

The presentation will outline the proposed projects, their objectives and deliverables. These are not technical presentations but rather an overview of the offering. For more technical information see our website http://www.arc.ab.ca/pri/LightOil.asp

The program will be funded jointly by the Alberta Research Council, Alberta Energy Research Institute and Industry members. With the proposed cost sharing formula, total industry investment is leveraged by a factor of 2. Leverage for individual companies can be substantially higher. There will be an annual decision date for Member companies to commit to continued participation.

Some of the benefits to member companies include:

  • playing a major role in developing and directing the $1.8 million/year R&D program focused on the technology required for field applications;
  • direct access to research results needed to maintain your company's technological edge and protection of intellectual property to maximize commercialization opportunities;
  • direct role in defining intellectual property development;
  • royalty free license to use of technology developed; and
  • shared results from field demonstration testing.

PTAC makes no representation regarding ownership or quality of the subject technology.
