Background
United Oil & Gas Consulting Ltd. has provided reservoir engineering and geological services to the oil & gas industry since 1991. SMART is a newly developed 3D mapping and characterization tool created by United with assistance from the National Research Council. The application is recently completed after two years and over 12 person years of development and testing. United's vision of an agile multi-disciplinary shared earth model is reflected in SMART ^TM.

SMART TM is designed for the Windows NT 4.0 environment and uses the latest advances in information, interpolation and visualization technologies to provide quality reservoir characterization, mapping and analysis in 3D.  This spatial model handles: volumetric calculations between contacts; rapidly creates net pay and Phi*h maps from 3D data, fence diagrams and sub-volumes based on working interest areas; upscales and extracts to flow simulators, handles horizontal well logs and partial penetrated logs.  Also, it has a facility for well planning and contains a built-in GIS.  SMART TM has one of the fastest 3D visualization tools for a PC environment.
