    Petroleum Technology Alliance Canada (PTAC) and the Clean Resource Innovation Network (CRIN) invites you to join us for this informative, 3-day event focusing on reducing methane emissions and costs while creating clean tech jobs.

    Each day, our panels of experts will discuss a relevant and trending topic:

    • Day 1: Recent updates to regulations and policies
    • Day 2: Industry ability and readiness in meeting the methane emissions target
    • Day 3: Addressing the challenges and opportunities in research and development, demonstration, and deployment of technologies in methane detection and mitigations

    Our current work from home reality may not be permanent, but the impact of today’s crisis on the industry will be. As we plan for a future beyond the pandemic and price wars, we need to make business decisions carefully, responsibly, and cost-effectively. Employee safety and wellbeing must also be paramount.

    This timely online event will provide an overview of the current situation and look into the future in reducing methane emissions while reducing cost and creating clean tech jobs. Register for one day or all three. Post-event videos will be made public for those who cannot attend.

  • Day 1:

    Bev Yee, Deputy Minister, Alberta Environment and Parks

     

    Bev Yee was appointed Deputy Minister of Alberta Environment and Parks on September 18, 2018. She has spent more than 20 years with the Government of Alberta, most recently as Deputy Minister of Intergovernmental Relations. Prior to that, she served as Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry.

    Much of Bev’s time with government has been dedicated to the Environment portfolio, where she was previously Assistant Deputy Minister of Integrated Resource Management Planning, as well as Alberta’s Stewardship Commissioner.

    Before joining the Government of Alberta, Bev was a high school physics and biology teacher. She holds a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Science.

     

     

     

     

    Day 2: 

    Jackie Forrest, Senior Director of Research, ARC Energy Research Institute

    Jackie actively monitors emerging strategic trends related to energy. She is an author and sought after public speaker with nearly 25 years of experience in the energy industry. She is the host of the ARC Energy Ideas podcast, a weekly show that explains the latest trends and news in Canadian energy and beyond.  She is a regular contributor to the Daily Oil Bulletin and the National Post publications and is a recognized expert in analyzing oil and gas systems in a carbon constrained world. She represents ARC Financial on the board of Longshore Resources Ltd, a privately held exploration and production company.  Jackie is also on the Explorers and Producers Association of Canada (EPAC)’s Board of Governors.

    Prior to joining ARC, she was the leader of North American crude oil research for IHS CERA. Jackie has published 20 public papers on energy issues, covering a range of topics, including US oil supply sources, markets for Canadian crude oil, environmental regulation, technology and six papers on life cycle GHG emissions from crude oil.

    Jackie was the recipient of the 2018 Schulich School of Engineering Environment and Sustainability Alumni Award, recognizing her contribution to a significant body of knowledge that has helped to increase the understanding of the connection between energy and environment. She is currently a member of the Schulich Industry Advisory Council (SIAC), the group provides input to the engineering school to help to ensure that programs and initiatives align with industry needs.

    Jackie attended the University of Calgary where she received an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering.  She also has an MBA from Queens University.
