Canadian UAVs is a leader in UAV’s with experience aviation pilots and proprietary technology to fly farther than any other UAV operator in Canada. We have invested in a ground-based radar called Sparrowhawk™ that allows for a UAV pilot to detect and avoid the airspace to ensure a safe operation. This allows our operations to fly out to a range of 12 km and cover and area of 450 km² (110,000 acres) from a single launch location. We are applying this technology to the oil sands operating assets by deploying from outside the security gate and collecting high-resolution imagery that is post-processed to create a 3D digital twin of the assets. The clients are able to determine various aspects of their operations such as volumetric calculations, route planning, and environmental monitoring to improve efficiency and reliability.

We are also pleased to announce that on March 24, 2022, Canadian UAVs secured a Canada-wide Special Flight Operations Certificate (SFOC) for the operation of its fleet of small UAVs for beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS). This first-of-its-kind permit issued by Transport Canada that allows Canadian UAVs to perform BVLOS flight operations anywhere in Canada in Class G airspace, up to 400 feet AGL.
