Keynote Address Announced: The Honourable Margaret McCuaig-Boyd, Alberta’s Minister of Energy
It is our pleasure to extend to our members and affiliates, an invitation to attend PTAC Petroleum Technology Alliance Canada’s 22nd Annual General Meeting and Awards Luncheon, being held at the Calgary Petroleum Club on Wednesday, May 2, 2018. With a keynote address being delivered by The Honourable Margaret McCuaig-Boyd, Alberta’s Minister of Energy, the Awards Luncheon, in conjunction with the AGM, is held each year in recognition of individuals who have provided significant contributions and leadership in the sustainable development of our world class hydrocarbon resources through innovation, collaborative research, technology development, demonstration, and deployment.
For over 20 years, PTAC has established a solid reputation as an organization that both our members, and the Canadian hydrocarbon energy industry, can rely on. Due to the support and service of our dedicated volunteers, PTAC has significantly increased its activities to minimize the environmental foot print, reduce costs, increase recovery, and improve overall industry performance through cultivating innovative technology solutions.
Over the past two decades, PTAC has facilitated and progressed innovative and collaborative, research, technology development, demonstration, and deployment initiatives for the sustainable development of Canada’s world-class hydrocarbon resources, and our success would not have been possible without the support and service of YOU, our dedicated volunteers.

The Honourable Margaret McCuaig-Boyd, Minister of Energy
Margaret McCuaig-Boyd represents one of the key oil and gas producing regions of Alberta and was elected to the legislature in 2015.
As Minister of Energy, McCuaig-Boyd has helped spearhead key initiatives such as the successful launch of Alberta’s Modernized Royalty Framework, increasing market access, and growing private investment in the value-added sector to help secure Alberta’s future through a more diversified energy economy.
Prior to her election, McCuaig-Boyd served as part of the executive team at Grande Prairie Regional College, where she oversaw aspects of the college’s trades program. She also served as a public school teacher and administrator for more than 20 years and operated a consulting company to support small- and medium-sized businesses.
McCuaig-Boyd graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor’s Degree in education, and holds a Master’s Degree in administration and leadership from San Diego State University.
