This project was led by project proponents Cenovus Energy and Bonavista Energy with technical support from Spartan Controls, Innotech Alberta, CMC Research Institutes and vendor Ventbuster Instruments Inc. Phase I test design was established to prove-out vendor product proficiency during bench testing (Innotech) with air and methane flow media, controlled release applications, atmospheric tank emissions testing (CMC and Bonavista) and compressor packing vents testing (Cenovus) to help quantify (baseline) emissions and associated opportunity for generation of verified carbon credits.  This broad array of emission sources covers a large portion of known methane leak points and as such was an important area of study not just for the vendor but also for industry itself.
